In the medieval times it was the Seat of Ohrid Archbishopric. A city with 365 churches in the XIX Century, and with more than 50 active churches today, and certainly, a city built on the shores of one of the most phenomenal natural beauties - Ohrid Lake, is a central Macedonian tourist destination and second administrative center, after Skopje, the capital of Macedonia.

The tour trace leads through Lower gate, to the archeological museum - The Robev family house, where ethnological exhibition as well as artifacts of the Ancient period are presented, such as the statue of the Goddess Isis.
The tour continues to the lapidarium and cathedral church St. Sofia (Holy Wisdom, XI Century). Continuing with the tour to Ancient Theater (II Century BC), the gallery of Icons and the church of the Holy Mother of God Beautiful (St. Mary Perivleptos, XIII Century).
Visiting the Samuil fortress is our next destination, with fantastic view of the Ohrid Lake from fortification's ancient walls. Descending down to the location of Plaosnik (a cross-road of civilizations at the Ohrid hill), and visiting the burial place of St. Kliment and newly reconstructed church of St. Pantelejmon.
A visit to the Early Christian polyconchal basilica (V Century AD) with its breath-taking mosaics, and continuing to the church of St. Jovan Kaneo (XIII Century), one of the trademarks of Ohrid. Visiting the fisherman settlement of Kaneo, where the tour takes a boat trip for further sightseeing from the lakeside. The tour ends at the Ohrid central Port.
